Part-4. Vehicle Electrics

Andrew St Pierre White and Paul Marsh talk about vehicle electrical installations.

Auxiliary vehicle electrical systems for overland trucks is a significant modification, and getting it wrong is common.

In my view, it is the one area that 4×4 vehicle accessory workshops get it wrong the most. They use inferior connections, poor cabling, think they are insulating the wiring against chaffing – when they aren’t, and many other mistakes. But the one mistake that is the most damaging to the vehicle, is when the auxiliary systems interfere with the vehicle’s own system. This is completely unnecessary, and can be avoided.
